Recently Tauranga City Council Transport section authorised the chipsealing over hotmix on the section of Gloucester Rd outside your house. Papamoa Residents & Ratepayers Association PRRA would like to collect your feedback on this decision and the effects it may be having on your daily life. With this knowledge PRRA can speak with a mandate to the Tauranga City Council.

Chipseal is a backward step, the worst solution for a suburban community. Garry Oakes from TCC acknowledges this but he still persists in chipsealing over hotmix roads.

PRRA is interested in your feedback on

  • increased road noise

  • tar bleed

  • rough surface

  • metal chips everywhere

  • patchy longevity of the roads

  • Chipseal needs to be replaced every 5-7 years

  • harder cycling
